Rufus is a retired United States Forest Service Mule. He is 28 years old and misssing most of his bottom teeth. He's on a special meal that includes pellets soaked in water, so that he is able to eat. When United States Government Equines can no longer work after years of service, they are sent to the auction. They usually only attract the slaughter buyers. WildHorse Ranch Rescue is determined to provide a peaceful, loving retirement for as many service equines as we can.
