Wildhorse Ranch Rescue attended the Wild Horse Summit in Las Vegas, NV Oct 10 -12, 2008 and met with Henri Bisson and the BLM Staff. The BLM is trying to find humane alternatives for the 33,000 horses that are currently in long and short term holding pens. Wildhorse Ranch Rescue is working with the BLM to find solutions. Please help us by donating to Wildhorse Ranch Rescue and designating your donation to the 33K Wild Horses! If we all work together, we can find a solution.
"Our preference is to have 30,000 people or groups either adopt or buy the horses that are in [captivity]," says BLM national spokesman Tom Gorey. "We fully support the view that the wild horse is the symbol of the West. The problem is the law also tells us to control the population."
