I have to believe there is a beautiful peaceful magical place for our very special friends. I know Dunny will be there with all the other blessed souls. Peace to the WildHorse Ranch, for your loss. law

Well, Dunny, there you go, sweet boy. Thank you for bringing out the good, the love, and the joy in us in this life. You always shared your best with us and we are better for having been in your comical, sweet, and sincere presence. Whether smiling for the crowd or being the canvas for a bunch of eager finger painters, you brought love and purpose to every Wildhorse Ranch charity fundraiser event and beyond. We wish you happy trails and a giddy in your yup in heaven. Placing a virtual kiss on your nose and a soft pat,pat on your behind. Rest well, sweet prince...

Oh Dunny - that smile just made my day. I know you are carrying that smile with you over the Bridge. May we all meet again there so we can hug your majestic neck. RIP, sweetie.

Tears fill my eyes to hear this news but I smile remembering the day I photographed Dunny laughing. At art shows I deliberately placed his photo at the front of the bin to watch the reactions of people passing. His smiling face always evoked smiles and laughter from young and old alike. His spirit fulfilled a beautiful mission of bringing more joy love and compassion to the world. I choose to agree with the poet Rumi who said “Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form.” When he does I'll be waiting with my camera. :)

We are so sorry to hear about Dunny a one in a million horse. Kim, our thoughts are with you and all the volunteers at Wildhorse. This is the hard part of loving animals, doing what's best for them, no matter what. I keep thinking he is laughing up in heaven, no more stinky blanket:-)

I am so glad I was able to spend time with you today and all the other times in need. You were a special horse and always eager to please. I am going to miss so much about you. I feel you are the mascot, you taught the herd so many wonderful things in addition to how to open gates. I have never known a horse who was so eager to please. I love you Dunny and am going to miss you so much. You brought joy to my life. I will smile always when i think of you

Dunny, you were my first horse friend. You taught me so much! You've even been to my house :)
But I knew a time would come when I wouldn't get to see you regularly, so I anticipated that and bought the most famous WHRR original painting, which is of course that laughing face of yours that everyone associates with this organization; "Carrots."
It has been hanging on a prominent place on my wall ever since. About 7 years now. It keeps the happy memory I have of you alive everyday. If I'm feeling shitty about people who mindlessly treat animals badly, for example, all I have to do is gaze at your painting, and allow that warm feeling flow in me that I used to get whenever I stood with you in your stall. Remember the talks we used to have? You tried so hard to participate, but I could tell some days you just didn't feel good. And I couldn't help crying for you. Well now you won't feel any pain, ever again, anymore. You however, will live forever in the hearts and minds of your friends who have took some of your spirit with them, to help them in their work everyday to fight for animals everywhere who's voices have not been yet heard.
Dunny, your friends will always love you, and never forget you. Please know that....wherever you are.

I’ve said it a million times, that no matter how long we do rescue work, it is never easy when one of our beloved horses passes. It’s the part of rescue that truly stinks. And although I know it was his time and Dunny no longer suffers, it is hardest on those of us who are left behind. I never met such a horse who smiled such a charismatic, endearing, funny smile and made us laugh. He was always a gentleman. After just reading Kim’s comment, I remembered that Dunny was a hero; some years ago he saved Kim’s life, just the way a gentleman would do for a lady. Our hearts are broken, but we will always have you in our hearts and in our memories. I once was told that love never dies, and I know that is true. I will miss you sweet Dunny. Rest in peace and run free.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear this sad news. He was the face I will always remember when I think of WHHR. Rest in peace dear Dunny.

Dunny we will miss you so much and we were so glad that we got to spend some time with you today. You were a wonderful horse and such a sweet boy. I'm so sorry Kim that you have lost a very important member of your family but you did the right thing for him--remember that. He has now crossed the Rainbow Bridge and is back with his buddies, JoJo, Sarah and I'm sure others that he knew from his many years at the ranch. He is probably running and jumping like he used to do now, free from the pain and smiling that famous smile of his.

God Bless You Dunny RIP
