Domenica "Donna" MacCarthy left this world on the evening of December 10th, the birthday of her late husband Barry. Born in Detroit in 1945, Donna was the 5^th child and only daughter of Domenic Capaldi and Maddalena Salvatore.  Her childhood was spent in Los Angeles, in and around Hollywood, in what she would repeatedly refer to as an “idyllic time.”  She graduated from Reseda High School, attended Cal State Northridge for music and then went on to pursue nursing which would become her great passion.  She worked as a nurse in California, Arizona and Nevada.  A great lover of animals, a trait which she passed on to her children; she owned cats, dogs, birds, fish, turtles and horses.  The horses, in particular, were a source of constant gratification until health problems made riding them unsafe.  She is preceded in death by her husband D. Barry MacCarthy, her parents and four older brothers.  She is survived by her four children: David Makay, Michael (Brady) Makay, Adrian (Kristen) MacCarthy and Carrie (Paul) Sikorski.  She was also a proud Nona to her 9 grandchildren.  Her surviving family will forever remember her hard work ethic, commitment to service and wonderful cooking.
