I had a childhood filled with horses, mucking, shows and gymkhanas. Due to company layoffs and a poor economy my father was laid off and the first thing to go were the horses. We moved, I entered high school, made new friends and found new hobbies. After high school I raised my son, went to school to obtain my Masters in Business Administration, worked a few jobs to gain experience and established myself in a career with Orbital Sciences as a Financial Analyst.

 

While on break one day I read an article online about Parker and Sons having adopted a horse from a local rescue. At that point I was looking for something new to do and working with the animals at a rescue made perfect sense. I knew I couldn't work in the humane society or with any dog or cat rescue. I'd end up with all the animals at my house. So....I clicked on the link for Wildhorse Ranch Rescue that was in the article.

 

I went to the orientation, began volunteering regularly, moved into a manager role, brought home a dog to foster and adopted two equines. Now I work as the herd health manager in conjunction with the other managers and the board of directors at Wildhorse Ranch to continue on our endeavor to save as many animals as possible.

 

When I'm not working my regular job to fund my animal habits, I love spending time outdoors, hanging with my niece and nephew, paper crafting, watching movies and attending 80's hairband concerts. My husband and I spend as much time as possible in the White Mountains with our pups. We love to ride quads and watch for wildlife.
