Our days at Wildhorse Ranch Rescue are anything but ordinary. The Rescue world is unpredictable and constant; full of emotions, wonderful and sad all mixed together. Then there are those days that are EXTRAordinary!

Today was one of those days. We received an incredible random act of kindness from Tanner, a fellow horse lover and humanitarian all the way from Springfield, Oregon who had leaned about us and the work that we do.

Tanner was very passionate about wanting to help our cause. He opened a Lemonade Stand and has donated the $88 in profits directly to our ranch, requesting it to go towards the medical care for our herd.

There’s nothing more we love here at Wildhorse than adoptions!


Our very own Wildhorse Volunteer Alexys has adopted Sonora!

We rescued this sweet Mustang Mare at auction in June of 2018 with her filly, Mohave, alongside her and a foal on the way (Cimarron) who was born in March of 2019. Both, previously adopted.

We asked Alexys what it was about Sonora that captured her heart and she told us, “When Sonora came to the ranch, she was just the prettiest horse I had ever seen, but she was very shy and not too interested in socializing with the volunteers. As time went on, she learned to trust us and her sweet and spunky personality began to shine through all that uncertainty, it was then that I knew I wanted to adopt her.&......

Gus', “his brother from another mare mother” is putting the finishing touches on top.
We hope you all are preparing to do a little celebrating of your own this 4th of July Weekend. Although this year may look and feel very different than those in the past, we wish you all a very safe, healthy and Happy 4th!
